I listened to the Audible Originals production of this book and highly enjoyed it. The full ensemble cast brings this classic to life, infusing humor and happiness, sarcasm and wit, into each of the characters. The audiobook production overall is stellar though at times the special effects (birds chirping, wind, or chattering background noise) felt overpowering and distracting occasionally to my listening ears. I love "Pride & Prejudice" it's one of my all time favorites, so I thought I should check out some of the other Jane Austen novels. "Emma" is a good, timeless story, but there were MANY parts of it that really dragged for me. Maybe it needs a semi-modern re-editing? I actually don't advocate for that sort of thing in general, but I think there is a lot in this that times have changed too much to have be still relevant.
