I've always enjoyed Fannie Flagg's writing, but it's been a while since I last picked up one of her books. (I'm embarrassed to say how long ago!) I had purchased this book a while back, but hadn't managed to fit it in my queue yet, so I decided to check out the audio version instead.

This is a delightful book - an easy read that goes back and forth between modern-day Alabama and World War II-era Wisconsin. The story is about Sookie, a 60 year old woman who finds out she may not be who she thought she was. The other story follows Fritzi, a young WASP who flies planes during WWII. I loved reading about these female pilots!
I really enjoyed this story, it was jolly and sweet. It won't change the world of literature but it was fun. ...more

The book has a great title, but the actual "all-girl filling station's last reunion" comes in the last 20 minutes of book and isn't the main thrust of the narrative. ...more
