There were some really important things being said in parts of this book. It helped me to understand and articulate why I feel the way I do on topics of racism in the US. Es una historia de iniciación, de descubrimiento y de amor. Las dos primeras características se relacionan con el paso de la juventud a la adultez y son narradas ágilmente. This novel is about immigration, racism and returning home but ultimately it is a story of first love, which I appreciated. There is a lot going on in this novel, but I liked reading about Nigeria and especially liked the scenes in the braiding salon. I think the plot was a little too meandering for me to really love this book, but it was interesting.
