3.5 Stars. So I liked that this moved right along - I read the last half all at once, I think, and stayed up past my bedtime to do so.

A book buddy of mine described this book as "A greasy bag of potato chips" and I would have to agree. Sometimes you're just in the mood for something salty and fatty and decidedly not good for you. This book is like that. It's tense. The mystery is compelling. You want to keep eating/reading (and in this case, possibly drinking gin and tonics).

Wow, I really didn't expect to like this book that much. I had recently read Gone Girl, which this isn't that similar other than it features twisted, damaged people, but was looking for something that felt close to the same. I was almost sorry that I decided to pick this up as I literally could not put it down and ended up staying up past my bedtime yesterday.

This was a fun read, and I was riveted for the second half to see what would happen when the culprit was confronted. Other than that it was enjoyable and a very quick read. ...more

This is going to make a great movie! I love books like this that are narrated by a few of the characters instead of just one.

The characters are all so broken, it's saddening how disjointed people can get from their own emotions. I loved the unreliable narrator. It's such a change from the tradition whip-smart, feisty heroine. The story dragged on and if it wasn't for the audio, I probably would have given it up a while ago. It jumps around and no ones thoughts are very clear. It's easier to attach to the story & character when there is a real voice telling the tale. ...more

Wow. It sucked me in. Very suspenseful. I can see it turned into a Hitchcock-like movie.

I'm not sure why everyone got so excited over this book. Granted I didn't finish it, but I labored through over 100 pages of drivel and hated all the characters. Every time I put it down it was an effort to pick it back up so I finally gave up. ...more
