4 1/2 stars. Really, really good; I think I was in the mood for a modern-day, romantic, relationship book. Also, I love British books & characters. I'd like to see the movie (oh please, don't f* it up!) but will wait for reviews. Worthwhile reading if you like meaningful romance and/or like Nick Hornsby's books (similar in nature). ...more

I almost put this down, because it was a little hokey, but I decided to give it 50 pages, plus it was the only book I had with me. Grin. It ended up being ok, I liked it, Em more than Dex, but he came out alright in the wash too. Did not see that one thing coming - Pissed me off, then the end was sweet.

I liked this - the idea of looking at a relationship on just one day over the course of 20 years was interesting. there were a lot of times I really wished I had the "next" day to see what happened rather than to have several things passed by and advance a whole year. This is another book from my summer list of Must Read before the movie comes out and I am glad I picked it up.
