Not only an amazing work of fantasy that draws on the classic fairy tales - often with a dark twist - this novel truly reflects the complexity of childhood and adolescence. Definitely the best novel I've read in a while!

A very clever take on fairytales and stories and their power over us. Once I got into it, I flew through it, even though I could see where it was going. A little heavy on the moral but very clever nonetheless.
