A classic. Who doesn't love Anne Shirley? Her impetuousness coupled with her wisdom, her passion for the beauty of the world and the people in it! She's one of the most endearing characters in all of literature.

I listened to the Audible production with Rachel McAdams as the reader, and she was alright. Her voices were not “all out,” so it made it tough sometimes to differentiate between so many female voices, but there was a subtle difference if you paid close attention.

I'm sure I read these books when I was about 10 or 11, but my memory of them had almost completely faded. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook version of this one and revisiting Anne's wonderful mix of precociousness and innocence. There are several recordings of this available; the one I read was narrated by Colleen Winton. I'm not familiar with anything else that Ms. Winton narrated, but she did an excellent job here with Anne's monologues. Somehow, I had completely forgotten that these books
