Now this...this was good. Poetic vignettes of Kaysen's time at McLean with sharp character studies of the people around her. I never had any trouble remembering who was who because they all came across so sharply. In this way a little like Michael Patrick MacDonald, Kaysen herself sometimes seemed the most intangible. i wish this had been longer. i wish there was more substance to it. however, there are moments, when her prose is so perfect it makes me love it. like the time she talks about how her life is being measured out by spoons, but not coffee spoons, twisted teaspoons. oh eliot references!
borderline.......awwww the most dreaded diagnosis. but kaysen begs the question, borderline between what and what?
