4.5 stars! This story about a woman who wakes up from a concussion missing ten years of her memory was soo good! For starters, she wakes up thinking she is happily married and pregnant, when in reality--she is divorcing with three children. Ultimately, it is a love story plus two other "love" stories and yet another Liane Moriarty book where the epilogue made me cry. Love love love...so good. ...more

While this book was in many ways less realistic than "Big Little Lies", I somehow found it more true (if that makes any sense). I think that the story here of a woman's life and how it evolves over the course of life is more feasible than the murder mystery element of Big Little Lies. What would you do if you wake up and find out that you’ve lost ten years of your life? For Alice, a knock on the head results in awakening to find that her perfect marriage is on the rocks, her unborn child is now ten years old and the very face she looks at in the mirror doesn’t reflect who she feels inside. As memories resurface, she realizes that she has a chance to change her life and become who she was meant to be all along.

It's interesting to consider what it would be like to forget the past ten years--the baggage in a marriage, the stress of raising kids. And Moriarty does a great job of satirizing elementary school parents. I related in Big Little Lies and did again with What Alice Forgot. The ancillary stories bugged me at first because I wanted to stay with Alice, but I ended up enjoying all ...more
