I enjoyed this book more than the first book in the series. I think knowing something of the characters and the world helped me jump into this one more quickly. Roy Dotrice continues to do an excellent job as the reader for this series. I can't really imagine picking this up in hard copy, but these long books are good for my commute. The middle portion of this seemed to drag, but it picked up again in the final third with lots of battles and action and wondering which characters were going to ge

At times the pacing is erractic, with a little too much time spent on hearing about the food with which folks "break their fast", but still a great story.

Second in the series - at this point, it's all about plot and what's going to happen next. A thrilling ride and I'm so pleased that the dragons are coming of age... I'm looking forward to more of them in the next book!

4 stars because of excessive rape and Brienne being worthless because she is unattractive, even though she is the best soldier.
