I didn't love Landline, the last Rowell book I read so wasn't sure what to expect going in. But I found this immensely readable and enjoyable. The book is divided into two types of chapters, those that are email exchanges between two women who work at a newspaper on the cusp of 2000. This is Rainbow Rowell's first book, written in 2011 (the others, in order: Eleanor and Park, 2012; Fangirl, 2013; Landline, 2014).
All of Rowell's books have nuanced, endearing characters and interesting structure. So good! This is like reading about your dear friends. Or maybe it is like reading your favorite romantic comedy movie. I adore this book.
