Thanks to foreword by Russel T Davies, when I started to read this book I started it as a young adult who was seeking adventure and fun in a book.

The story is about Arthur Dent who is saved by his friend Ford Prefect (who happens to be an extraterrestrial) in the last minute just before the earth blows up. The two then find themselves traveling the galaxy in search of answers to the universe's biggest questions, meeting strange and funny characters along the way.

After talking to a coworker about 'I Am Number Four', he recommended this series, warning me it was a little out there and he almost walked away from it early on but pushed through and ended up enjoying it. Wow, this is just way out there. 40 pages in I and I am just not sure if I could/should keep going.

Chapter 23 cracks me up!!! Short one page chapter, so worth the read and kinda sums up the strangeness of this book and makes me smile.

It was fun to re-read this book after listening to Dimension of Miracles - it gave me a fresh way to look at a book I've read multiple times. I think Adams was more successful than Sheckley, but that may just be because his sense of humor is closer to my own. ...more
