Two rival social groups, "greasers" and "socs" like nothing better than an invigorating fight on a Saturday night. Ponyboy, a "greaser," is tough on the outside but thoughtful and sensitive on the inside. This eventful and poignant story is as relevant today as it was back in 1967. Both my husband and I remember reading it (and loving it) in high school. As an English teacher, I regularly recommend this novel to students who love it just as much. ...more
