Spring 2019,

This book for read/taught to the Dual Credit Senior's this year as a combination of Metaphysical/Romantic/Gothic text, switching it out from teaching Wuthering Heights last year. I always love reading this novel. I always the surprise in the first few chapters when I remember how lush of a Romantic Era novel that Frankenstein is. I only got halfway through this in high school, so I went back and read it to see what I thought now. I still found it to be over-hyped. I think I originally thought it would be scarier or at least eerie. There was more of that in the second half of the book, but still not enough to make it an engaging read for me. The monster becomes a better character than the creator and I wish more of the book was seen through his eyes or followed his travels.
