Insurgent is the second part of the Divergent Trilogy. Beatrice “Triss” Prior has thwarted the plans of the Erudite and the “traitor” Dauntless and now has to deal with the aftermath of those events. Traumatized and hopeless, she with a small remnant of Dauntless, Abnegation, and Faction-less must escape the Erudite and discover the secret that Abnegation has been hiding.

I'm not sure if it was the number of new characters they brought into this story, or the mixing and matching of numerous factions, or the annoying characters themselves, but I was disappointed w this second book in the series. I finished it purely to see where the story went, and I'll probably read the third and last (thankfully) book.

I loved Divergent, but I think I may have loved Insurgent even more! Great pace, great emotion, great story! I enjoyed it so much I finished it in two days (well... two really late nights!) I rarely do this, but I'm following up Insurgent by reading the third in the trilogy immediately. Usually I take a break and space out my series books, but I'm so intrigued by what happens next that I've already dived right into Allegiant!
