This was great fun!!
I thought this would be stuffy and overly wordy, like so much Victorian literature is (yes, I'm looking at you, Wilkie Collins), but it's not at all. It's funny and fast-paced and feels so very modern.

(Finally found the edition I own on Goodreads.)
On the second read through, the story made a bit more sense. I think it helped that I was expecting the random Mormon bit and I could better relate it to the victims and perpetrator. I also think that it's the fact that the book goes from the first person POV of Watson to an anonymous first person narrator and then back to Watson that threw me the first time around. The change just disconnected me from the story and even during the secon ...more
