This irreverently humorous take on Armageddon is chockfull of witty dialogue and unforgettable characters. According to the "Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch," the world will end this coming Saturday. As such, the armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything seems to be going according to plan. Well, mostly. A couple of key figures--a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon--find themselves conflicted about the coming doom and destruction. And, it seems that the An

This book just didn't work for me. I'm not sure what I expected but I know I didn't get it. I found it mildly amusing at best. Which is far from the reputation it has of being one of the funniest books ever written. I did like that character of Newt though. But then again I have a soft spot for the shy and awkward. He was the only thing I really liked about the story. I'd rate it 1.5 stars.

This was a fun book—all about what happens when the anti-Christ is supposed to be raised by Satanists and instead, due to a bumbling nun, gets placed in a normal English household at birth. There are a lot of characters, side-plots, and misadventures as Armageddon dawns, but it stayed really funny and entertaining all the way through. I especially loved Agnes Nutter’s prophecies that were so accurate that nobody believed them and the little tidbits of pop culture references throughout the book.

This book is great. An angel and a demon have begrudgingly become friends over the millennia while living amongst humans. One day they learn that the end of the world is going to occur in a few days. The angel and demon shoul ...more
