Fun premise, pretty gruesome, lots of great characters (I loved the personifications of the rivers). It dragged quite a bit in the middle and I felt like it got bogged down in geography and politics and ethnicity a bit too much, but I’m curious to read the next in this series and see if he gets a bit more in stride once the stage has been set with this book.

Midnight Riot should have been a fun and interesting book.
