"I found the story to be reasonably enjoyable, but it had a similar feel to some of those classic popular paperback novels or James Bond-esque books. That's not really my preferred style, as I'm not a big fan of the pervasive toxic masculinity themes that are often present in that type of fiction. I'll need to carefully consider whether I want to continue with the rest of the series, given my reservations about the underlying tone and characterizations."

*ahem* I did it. I read Rivers of London (called "Midnight Riot" on my copy, because apparently Americans need titles changed before we'll read something?) so you don't have to.
I mean, you can read it if you want. The reason this series has become popular, I think, is that it is permeated with the author's love of London. The book is full of historical and geographical tidbits that are fascinating and if a cool setting is the main thing you like in your books, this could be the book for you.
