I was so caught up in this intense story that I practically growled whenever someone dared to interrupt me. Pierce Brown knows how to pull his readers in and keep them hooked to the very end. Q: What do you get if you take a helping of The Hunger Games, a side of Ender's Game, a sprinkling of 1984 and bake for 400 pages? A: Red Rising. I'm really torn on the rating for this, I did enjoy it but unfortunately for me it never really stepped out of the shadow of those that came before.
