With pregnancy turning my brain to mush, I've decided to turn to children's books to keep me occupied. I never read this as a child, and really enjoyed it. The British preoccupation with gardens, fresh air and 'refreshing constitutionals' (as Austen referred to them) is strong in this story of children finding their spirits in a forgotten garden.

I remember listening to this on cassette when I was a child. It really adds to the experience to have someone with a British accent read it. While I was happy to read it again, it will never surpass A Little Princess in my affections.
