While I was disturbed by the importance of cutting in this book, I still enjoyed this finale to the Uglies series. Tally’s character is significantly changed by her transformation to a Special, and be warned that the book is darker than the previous two. However, I appreciated the role that the environment played in Tally’s decision at the end of the book, and I think this series overall would be a good discussion piece for teens about body-image, technology, and the environment.

This series had a pretty good ending. It wasn't totally satisfying, but not terrible. I didn't like how the author had made such a point of having the main character be able to change her circumstances and then leaving it where she is at the mercy of what was done to her. She is able to cope, some what, but it is sort of flat and just thrown out there. In this book, we are given a more comprehensive view of the overall world and it isn't all like the city the main character came from.

The quality of the plot is declining as this series goes along....how does Tally go from barely saving herself, to saving the world? I'll still probably read EXTRAS, though.
