The book Agatha Christie published immediately prior to The Big Four was The Murder of Roger Ackroyd acknowledged as one of the best mysteries of all time. It's hard to believe since this story seems so inferior to that one. I would guess that this started out as a series of short stories that she then wove together into a single puzzle. I reread (or I should say re-listened to) this book on audio. The BBC Audio production was excellent and I highly recommend that everyone pick up an Agatha Christie novel and remember why she is the best at what she does.
