This a great book for beginning readers with lovely illustrations from Eric Carle. I like the big bold pictures with the repetitive rhyme. Any child picking up a book for the first time will surely love this one.
As an adult I get a giggle over the idea that this booked was banned for a short time from schools in Texas because they thought it was written by a communist!

Board book has sliding panels to see the next animal coming
This book is really boring to read aloud, but is great for very little kids. They can memorize the book and "read" it themselves pretty quickly.
