Wow.
I just closed this book and all I can think is wow, but I realize that's not terribly articulate so let me try again. Obviously, first time I read this book. I am in awe of the writer. The suspense kept me reading well past my bedtime and had me so tense I was actually kind of jumpy this morning at breakfast. I like this book even more now than when I first read it as a seventeen year old. I love that it is such a ghost story, but with no fantasy involved. I completely identify with the main character and her ability to completely invent a future, be it good or not, in a matter of seconds with nothing but a glance and an overactive imagination. Du Maurier is a genius.
