I can't believe I hadn't read this classic until now. So good, especially the last half! ...more

Last night I dreamed I went to Manderley again. It seemed to me I stood by the iron gate leading to the drive, and for a while I could not enter, for the way was barred to me.

So, here I am, nearly 50, and reading Rebecca for the first time. I know. I know!. It's one of the few novels that my mother (who usually has no time for fiction) loves, too. I did see the movie, in college, so I know the basic plot, but not the intricacies. Perhaps there's not really much point in my writing an actual

Perhaps the reader in this audiobook brought

Ok, so I had to finish this, it was a really good book. I will admit that I just wanted to shake the narrator...and I was a little perturbed at how she reacted to the big twist. But wow, how it kept sucking you in. The end was questionable and I felt like it didn't answer the questions I had about the beginning...but maybe that was the point! ...more

Meh. I've read better. It did perk up when the twist came along because I wasn't expecting it. I may give it another go later in October. ...more
