This is quite a book. Our group was unable to categorize it as gothic romance, mystery, ghost story, or something totally unique. We noted the difference between the book and the Hitchcock film. (If you've only seen the film it would be worth your while to read the book.) Not only a great story, but beautiful writing.

I am so happy to have finally read this classic novel! After reading The Reading List by @saranishaadamsbooks , I decided that I needed to read all of the books on the beloved list and Rebecca was one of two that I had yet to read.
I always thought that Rebecca was a ghost story in a more classic sense but the plot is so much more nuanced than that.

A great mystery. It was a soothing read, if that makes sense, with mystery burning until the bitter end.
