Denise Cormaney
Wow. This book is why I read fiction. The author made me look at my assumptions about people I only know from news headlines and see them as human beings. I cared about each of the characters and was rooting for each of them, even when that meant I was rooting for conflicting outcomes! It was also a page-turner; I couldn’t read it fast enough. Highly recommend; I’d give this one 6 stars if I could.

This book was like a drink of fresh, clear water. I cared about the characters, there was plot and lyricism and a parallel to Antigone which made it even richer. It had everything.

Such a good, moving, and sad book. A good reminder of how focusing on a person’s group membership instead of their individuality is harmful to all.
