this was a crazy heist adventure with a rich cast of characters, all of them messed up deeply and so much UST*. Loved it and moving right along to the next.

It took me a little bit to get into this story, but once I did, I really became invested. The characters and the universe are beautifully created, but I feel like they aren't fully developed. Maybe it's because I haven't read the Grisha trilogy, but this story definitely stands alone, until its sequel, anyway. It's a very twisty, and elegantly written.

This is SO MUCH BETTER than the Alina Starkov series. I'm looking forward to reading the follow-up, which I basically never felt when reading the Shadow and Bone series. Interesting and unique characters and a fast-paced heist-type storyline kept me engaged the whole way through.

Three and a half stars. Would have been four but the cliffhanger ending annoyed me.
No mourners, no funerals♠️Really enjoyed the audiobook.
