I could hardly put this book down. There are so many life lessons in this book and so much Wilde is stating between the lines about how we treat people, what we value by how we act, and how we delude ourselves when we act poorly, in this case maliciously.

oh he is witty, i didnt even make it to the magic part... i lost interest when lord dusty pants went to dinner with duchess stocky built and they spoke about how common americans are and how america wasnt ever discovered so much as noted.... i might try to skip ahead and see how it goes but i feel bad for the passionate idiot that is dorian gray... i dunno i feel dumber for not having been able to make myself read this book.

Books don't end up in the "classics" category just by being written. A little bit of Gothic horror and a little bit of philosopy makes for an interesting combination. This book has been on my TBR list for so long and I'm glad I finally read it. Don't spoil the surprises by reading a summary first.
