Highly recommend. I knew it would be a good story, but (because the author is unknown to me) I did not expect it would be so colorfully and poetically written. Characters are vividly drawn, settings are richly described, and there is a lot of historical background, some through the stories of the old man and the "freed" captive girl, and some through the newspaper stories he reads in public appearances throughout Texas.
