With just 24 minutes before midnight on New Year’s Eve I finished this book to reach my 2021 reading goal! It was sweet. I had a few issues with it but overall I enjoyed it.

Read Harder - about books. A perfect little palate cleanser! Wonderfully happy story with a satisfying ending ... and plenty of good book recommendations.

Surprisingly I really enjoyed this book!

It's a bit heave on romance, but because the setting is very interesting (small Scottish town), the main character is lovely (with her bookworm attitude and her bookish dreams), and of course, the plot about having a traveling bookshop is just too sweet to be ignored.

I think Jenny Colgan, with her easy writing and cute characters, can describe so well about the dream every bookish person has- and she can make her character so relatable. I don't even mind

Above average in predictability, but it made me long to visit northern Scotland and a book about books is a fun thing.

Three stars for the setting and the book-love.

In the prologue, the author writes about hating smartphones and WiFi. I’m reading this book on the Libby app. Then, in the first chapter, we’ve got computers and mindfulness workshops being added to a library, which that draws a comparison to Nazi book-burning. I think we’re done here.
Okay, I went back and finished it, and once you get past the part where multimedia, community-oriented libraries are Nazi-like, it’s fine.

More like 3.5

I enjoyed this novel for what it was. Really liked it outside of the ridiculous love triangle stuff. Some of the writing around the relationship between Nina and Lennox was a little much but I really enjoyed the writing around Nina and her personal growth more.

I loved this book! A shy protagonist who lives books moves to the country, starts her own business, and falls in love. It is completely a guilty-pleasure book, but it felt like it was written just for me!
