I listened to this on audio, to listen to Carrie Fisher's voice, and let me say, it made me sad, especially when she'd talk about "when I die...", or her mother...sigh. Anyway, this book was ok; I enjoyed Fisher's humor injected into her stories, and of course, the scoop with Harrison Ford, but other than that and the Star Wars hairstyles, there wasn't really anything super new to share. I enjoyed the poetry/journal entries written by a young Fisher, read by her daughter, Billie Lourd. I do also ...more

Very short book (about 4 hours Audio). First there is not much to it. The first chapter delves into her tryout for Star Wars. The 2nd chapter goes on for too long about her affair with Harrison Ford. Even now in her 60's she sounds insecure about the whole thing and I'm not sure why she felt the need now to share it. The later part of the book she reflects on her legacy and the legacy of the movie and goes into extensive detail what it's like to do conventions. I was most disappointed about the ...more

Enjoyed first half in which Carrie reads. Skipped most of journal reading (read by someone else). It was interesting but not as consuming as the first half.

This is great! Carrie Fisher found the old diary she kept while filming Star Wars and decided to write this book. Alot of this book goes through Carrie's 3-month affair with Harrison Ford. You get the aspect of 19-year-old Carrie's thoughts and also adult Carrie's look back with insight. She is so funny as she looks back! Young Carrie wrote alot of poems. I listened to the audiobook which Carrie narrates along with her daughter Billie Lourd reading the journal entries. Definitely recommend this ...more

I highly recommend listening to the audiobook read by Carrie Fisher. She's so cynical but you feel like she's genuine- something that seems more true as she's reading it to you. ...more

Harrison Ford really did a number on her. Her diary entries during the affair are filled with melancholy and self loathing. I look forward to reading her fiction.
