What Members Thought

I don't often read short stories because for me it feels too "fragmented" and more often than not, I am left with more questions than answers. However, I was intrigued by the reviews when this book came out, as well as the theme throughout of keys and locks. Oyeyemi is a good writer and as can be expected, I liked some stories better than others and I enjoyed reading the book, but I still prefer nonfiction or novels.

Very similar to Yoko Ogawa's "Revenge" in style and tone but not as successful. The prose is beautiful, the premises are intriguing, but I like my stories with a bit more coherence.

This was very good, but a little slow going for me. I did like how characters from one story (the longest one, which was early on in the book) came up a couple of times in other stories, but peripherally. Overall very interesting characters and stories.
