What Members Thought

Now that I have finished reading this famous anti-war novel, I am not at all surprised he gave up on reading it himself. It does indeed have a cleverly written plot and a lot of dark humor, and once you're past the first chapter it gets a lot easier to continue reading. I can relate to both the American prisoners and the Germans, all so tired of the war. All the "real" soldiers are dead and only the very young and very old are left to continue fighting.
