A hilarious read, perfect to end 2013 :) So many funny moments, twists, and crazy things along this book. I love the heroine, fantastic Bee, the daughter of Bernadette. This book shows us that being different is totally okay, and sometimes it's good to just release your creative energy, otherwise you're going literally crazy.

An absurd and engaging story, told using alternating narrative perspectives as well as emails, faxes, letters, and other documentation. Essentially, Bernadette Fox panics while planning a trip to Antarctica and sets off a series of events that lead to her disappearance. Her husband and daughter then try to find her. This novel reminded me of the Spellman series since it seems to combine both satire and serious emotion in a fun mix that keeps you guessing. The Bernadette of the title is a talented, almost genius, architect, who seemed to have it all in the 90's. She wins a MacArthur Genius award, meets and marries a talented engineer who works for Microsoft, but then moves to Seattle, has a daughter, and goes off the grid (and the rails a bit too).
