What Members Thought
A satisfying wrap to the trilogy, and some delightful new characters introduced in this book. Ysabeau is still a favorite, and things wrapped up so well. This book was certainly the darkest of the three. The big reveal seemed a bit anticlimactic but somehow fit with the action involved with the grand reveal.

I think I ultimately enjoyed the world Deborah Harkness created more than I enjoyed her books. I'm glad to have read the series through to the end, but I never felt particularly emotionally connected to the characters and there were descriptive passages that could have been cut entirely. If you enjoyed the first two books in this trilogy, I would say finish it out with this book. But if you haven't already started reading, there are other comparable series (i.e. Daughter of Smoke and Bone) that

I reread the whole series in anticipation of this book, and I relished it. The middle book still is probably my favorite, but the conclusion was definitely worth the wait. Great read.
