I was glad to discover a community of other people out there who hated this book and found nothing enjoyable in it. I agree with Chelsea--I hated the book, and everyone in the book. how can you cheer for anything? it was unrelenting horror and pain and torture and misery, mostly inflicted by people onto other people. I read it. it's a classic. still don't like it. won't ever read it again.

It's a very gloomy and depressing book. I'm not quite sure why it's such a classic. My least favorite Brontë book so far.
