This volume was a deception, after New Moon and the changes it might bring to this series. I was hoping for some confrontation, between werewolves and vampires, maybe even some fights and duels. In the beginning it really seems you might get that action, while Bella tries to remain neutral, though her task is somewhat difficult as her choice was already made. This one was actually kind of badass. There was a war with vampires and werewolves just fucking shit up all over the place. Oh, also, does Bella even have the use of her legs by the end? She gets carried everywhere. I enjoy making fun of her in my mind as I read along.

Twilight remains the most satisfying and engaging of the series thus far, although I am looking forward to reading the last book in the series. I'm interested to see how Meyer ties up all the loose ends she's opened up through out the three books.

I don't like these books. They're silly. And yet... I simply cannot put them down. Book crack. Just give in- read the series. You'll hate me for it. But you won't really mind.

I know... I stubbornly persist in reading through the series, as much as it frustrates me. Sigh.... better, but still.... vampires shouldn't sparkle and honestly, what is more powerful than a soul mate? ugh!
