For the first part, I definitely did not think there was any way that it would be wrapped up in a fashion befitting a young adult book. But it did. And it did it well. I found myself actually tearing up in a lot of parts. So well done, and I'm glad I read them.

Updated to remove my old 5-star rating, because I don't think any of us should give JK Rowling and her opinions any attention. Original review below:
I first read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows immediately after it was published, and I hadn't revisited it or the rest of the series since then. Coming back to it a decade later, I found I remembered almost nothing of what happened in the final book, so it felt full of fresh surprises.

I feel like the ending was a total cop-out. I realize she wanted Harry to survive, but there were other ways without "killing" him. I was glad that we learned why Dumbledore trusted Snape. And the epilogue: really? I could've done with a few months later rather than 19 years.
