I really liked this graphic novel, especially since I'm always on the lookout for books (especially in graphic form) my students will like. It's about an anti-hero little girl and the villain "boss" into whose life she inserts herself. There are adventures and mishaps and dragons and science. The graphic form juxtaposes main characters mostly clothed as 13th century knights and peasants against the backdrop of futuristic science and dystopia, as other dystopias have done, and I found myself wond ...more

So, I'd started reading How to Survive a Plague: The Inside Story of How Citizens and Science Tamed AIDS and very quickly decided that I needed to read something that was the opposite of that at the same time.
