This book was just the best. Immersive and magical. I loved the audio, but there were several times I wanted to be able to go back and check on a date or other detail, and it would have been much easier to do that with a physical book. Very engaging, with some wonderful well-felt scenes and a cast of characters I was connected to through the whole story. I found myself sneaking off to read this one. It had a similar tone to Shadow of the Wind, I felt, with a haunting and magical setting as the backdrop for far more universal experiences that were played out in the foreground.
