Simply adored this book. I picked it up for "The Atlantic's" 1 Book 140 Twitter book club and was a little nervous-- it is a little outside my normal reading. That said, once I got into it, I loved it. Family drama, a love story, houses that are fully realized characters, and all set in the early 20th century. What's not to love? ...more

The goddess Atwood.

I got to read part of this whilst visiting Ontario, the province in Canada in which most of this book is set. That made it extra super awesome.
