This was a fun read. It's the story of two teenagers who fall in love, told in alternating perspectives. I though Rowell did a great job of capturing the awkwardness and tenderness that comes along with that. I also thought that the characters, particularly Eleanor, were very believeable. A fun read for sure.

This YA novel has been on my to-read list for a while and I loved it just as much as I thought I would. I don't read a lot of YA fiction, but I thought this was an excellent book. I found it to be quite evocative of the time and circumstances. The characters were about the same age I would have been at the time and the descriptions of the capricious school bus social strata triggered flashbacks. The authors descriptions of various firsts (hands held, kiss, etc.) were wonderfully rendered, avoiding cliche at every turn. I really enjoyed this book. I think it's sweet and it captures the life and angst of teens well. However, I can't say I totally understand the hype that surrounds this book. I think it's great but I don't understand why it's got the amount of attention it did.
