4.5 stars! I loved this, really. Fun, sassy, feminist, and hysterical! -1/2 a star because I think it could have been about 30% shorter and still been as great - the middle dragged a bit. Great audio book. A satire of consumer culture, strict gender roles, and beauty pageants with some heartfelt moments. This is a fun book with a gonzo style. The author reads her own book on the audio version and does great voice work for all the different characters.

I really think had Lord of the Flies been this funny, and been about beauty pageant contestants instead of annoying boys, I would have liked it a lot more. Or at all, really.
