My one critique of this book is that the first half was really slow, but the payoff in the second half was worth it. I did almost put the book down multiple times in the first half though. In the end this was a powerful story of finding oneself and striving for freedom within the strictures of society.

Entertaining and fast read. The pacing is great, making it hard to put down! Some of the larger reveals felt rushed and I found myself wanting to learn more about the mysterious miniaturist.
