Young adult? I don't think so. New adult, maybe, but these "kids" are pushing 30, I think and I'm not sure what "new adult" actually means, but I'm seeing it everywhere, so I figured I would throw it in, to prove I can hang with the cool kids.

I didn't love Landline, the last Rowell book I read so wasn't sure what to expect going in. But I found this immensely readable and enjoyable. The book is divided into two types of chapters, those that are email exchanges between two women who work at a newspaper on the cusp of 2000. The women are supportive and caring of each other, but also funny and challenging each other too. Anyone who has had a BFF at work will immediately get pulled into their exchanges.
