I am not usually much of a mystery reader - so many are formulaic and hastily done. However, this book is my first Tana French and I doubt it will be my last one. It surprised me. I loved the lyrical, rich tone of every page and was taken in to the plot instantly. The ending was unexpected and I was tempted to stay home from work and down it whole to find out what would happen next sans distractions. In the Woods was gritty, dark, and succinct - not a lot of extra fat on it that needed excising,

I am having a resurgence in enjoyment of thrillers at the moment. A good in between novel between War and Peace.
