Highly recommended to all book lovers, library people, and history buffs! This book is about the history of the Armed Services Editions published during World War II. I had no idea such books even existed! I think the most wonderful and powerful parts of this book are the letters from servicemen. These books meant so much to them! Publishing and distributing these books was truly an extraordinary undertaking.

There is a lot of repetition of material and some eye rolling pro USA propaganda. But hearing the letters enlisted men wrote about reading a books is very touching.
