Another book to whose party I arrived late. This is one of those books that will stay with you for a long time. It is beautifully written, but I believe it's staying power has a lot to do with the questions you ask yourself while you are reading. It's about a boy and a father living in a post apocalypse world. They must struggles to feed themselves and to survive others who have also survived. I kept wondering if the father was being selfish by not just killing he and his son. Best book I've read in ages! McCarthy is a master at building tension. There are jaw-droppingly gorgeous sentences that are an inspiration for any aspiring writer. I'll definitely be checking out more McCarthy soon.
